One of Google’s services we have been using a lot lately is Google Tag Manager. JavaScript tags have become an increasingly popular way of adding functionality to websites, but they can become confusing and hard to manage, especially if you have more than one or two.
Tag Manager provides a single tag, which is then the only one you need on your website. All other tags can be configured within Tag Manager. By doing this, it makes it very easy to maintain your tags inside the Tag Manager interface, without having to modify your website code.
We are starting to implement this on websites we manage going forward. You should notice no difference on the website itself, but it will help us deal with any issues or updates more quickly.
