New Questions & Answers Feature On Google Maps

On September 1, Google announced its new feature for Google Maps. This feature allows businesses to post frequently asked questions and answers for potential customers searching on Google Maps using Android devices (at the moment this feature is not available in the web interface or for iOS devices but in the near future it will be available on all mobile devices and browsers). Google wants to help people who use search engines to find information about a business that is not readily available on websites. For example, if you’d like to visit a restaurant with your toddler and need to know if high-chairs are available, it may be difficult to find this information on most restaurant websites. How Q&A Can Help Your Business

Using this feature, businesses will be able to post frequently asked questions and answers which can be accessed easily by users searching on Google Maps. Additionally, businesses will receive a push notification when new questions are asked by potential customers so they can post answers. Google will also notify businesses when new questions and answers are posted on their listings from the community so the business owner can check their relevancy and/or accuracy. What’s more, businesses owners and the community will have the opportunity to “thumb up” content to enhance its ranking and flag content that is incorrect or spam.
